There's a first time for everything

My wonderful bloggy friend, Stephanie, nominated me for my FIRST EVER bloggy award!!!  How exciting!

So here are the rules:
1-Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2-Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3-Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4-Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5-Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7-Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they've been nominated.

7 thing's about me that you may not know about me...

(I did a "25 things about me" post a while back.. some of these may be the same... but if you are a new reader, then you won't know them yet!)

1.) I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life when I was five.  I walked away from Him during my teens.  I found Him again when I was in college.  It changed my life.  Now I know my future is already laid out for me.  I will one day travel to foreign countries with my husband to tell them about Him.

2.) I am a cat person.  I have always had pet cats for as long as I can remember.  If I have my way I will always have at least one.  (Don't worry, I like dogs, too... just not as much!)

3.) One day after my hubby finishes school and we start a family, I hope to start a small photography business.  I mainly want to shoot maternity, newborn, and young children sessions.  It would be my dream job.  Except it's so expensive to get into!

4.) I always made A's in school.  I graduated high school with a 4.0 gpa.  The only class I ever made B's in was P.E.  Can you believe that??!!  Ha!  I'm not athletic in the least...  I have no coordination!

5.) Almost everyone knows by now that I want children.  But did you know that I have a running list of baby names?  I update it whenever I come across a name like.

6.) I spend wayyy too much time blogging and reading other blogs.  It's addictive.  It's so fun... and helpful!  I get so many of my recipe ideas, decorating ideas, etc. from other blogs.

7.) For the last one I asked Justin what is something not many people know about me.  He said, "that you are weird."  I thought everyone had that figured out by now.. Ha!  I talk in funny voices to my animals, do made up dance moves, and other random things.  It's just me!  But you have to be pretty close to me to see that side.  Other people would probably tell you I'm serious and reserved and maybe a little shy.

Now I nominate:

Have Fun!!!

Pete Wilson, Pastor of Cross Point Church in Nashville, posted this on his blog today...  It really convicted me.  These words could easily be my own.

Now I’m not saying I don’t pray or I don’t enjoy prayer. I’m not saying I don’t understand it or I need help understanding why we pray. I’m just saying I stink at prayer and my prayer life is not where I want it to be.

The painful thing is what my weak prayer life says about me. Here’s the ugly truth. My lack of prayer proves…

I underestimate the power of prayer and overestimate my own ability.

I’m not really as hungry for the intimacy with God I so regularly publicly declare as a desire of my heart.

While I would like to know God’s will for my life I’m clearly more committed to my will, my plans and my agenda.

I’ve bought into the illusion that there are more important things to do than spending time with the creator of the universe.

I’ve reduced prayer to a list of things I think I want or need and I currently don’t need to “use” God for anything.

I can't even say anything else.  I need to really meditate on this for a while...

I've gotta fix my prayer life.

Only with His help.

FALL is in the air!

Well after it rained for what felt like a month solid, the sun has come back out.  Even better than sunshine, the temperature has been staying in the 70's and 80's.  I have to wear light jackets in the mornings!

This makes me super happy cause it finally feels like fall.  (I just hope it's here to stay!)  Fall is by far my favorite season.  It also seems to go by the fastest.  Stink.

I love the weather and the different colored leaves and the smells and the clothes and the fairs (and fair food) and my BIRTHDAY!

Since the weather was so nice today, we decided to search out some garage sales.  We found some good stuff and had fun.  Here is a picture of our loot.

I have a tendency to buy lots of children's books.  They are soooo stinkin' cheap at garage sales that I can't pass them up!  Justin has been buying lots of Bibles lately to hand out to people that don't have one.  I got a colorful sweater and some cute earrings.  :)

Then we came home and watched some college football.  I have so enjoyed this relaxing Saturday.  Now my hubby is at work, and I'm trying to decide what to cook for dinner.

Speaking of dinner.. if you have not trying Big Mama's recipe for meatball sandwiches yet, you need to!

what's for supper?

First and foremost, we could not survive without this little invention.  I really don't know what I did before I had one.

IMG_3033

Justin and I are sweet tea ADDICTS!  And we like it really sweet as you can tell by looking at the mound of sugar in the bottom of that pitcher!  :)

Justin is trying to eat a more high-protein diet right now and requested pork tenderloin... so being the good little wifey that I am, I found a good recipe.   Like so many of my good ones, I found mine on Kelly's recipe blog.  Yummmm!

IMG_3042

Then there is dessert.  The best part of every dinner...

Wanna share any good/easy/few ingredient recipes??  Feel free!!!!

Ahhhh..

I'm sitting at home tonight just relaxing.  It feels wonderful!  I'm just hanging out with my animals waiting for the hubby to get home.

I guess it's time I tell the bloggy world (aka my dad and sister) that I have once again started a new job!

This means that all this past week and for the next two weeks I will once again be working two jobs.  Two jobs=Too many hours at work!  Sunday will be my first day off in almost two weeks.  I cannot wait!!!  I have already made plans to go to church (for the first time in over a month!), do a little shopping, hang out with friends, and relax!

My new job is at a church in a nearby town.  They have a Kids Day Out program, and I have been hired as an assistant.  I basically help out teachers in their classrooms, make copies, clean up messes, stand in for teachers on their breaks, etc.  I felt like I had to take this job because it's more hours and more money per hour than BB&B.  Plus, I will have nights and weekends off!  I'm excited!

And because I will be home at night I can get back to cooking.  Last night I cooked fish for the first time.  We had a tilapia dish that I got from Rachel Ray.  Tonight I'm cooking pork tenderloin.  Yum, yum!  Justin is gonna get spoiled!  I also hope to pick back up on reading.  I have kinda let that fall to the side while working so much.

I do have to say I started Crazy Love with Angie and the Bloom Community, and so far I LOVE IT!

That's all for now... just wanted to give an update.

This made me laugh and cry... What a wonderful day it was!!!

My father-in-law put this together... so sweet

wow.. just wow

So, I'm up late again.  I have this crazy schedule right now that has my sleep all messed up.  Some nights I'm in bed by ten, and others like tonight, it's 2am and I'm wide awake.

Anyway, since Justin is in bed I'm just messing around on the internet.

A friend of mine tweeted about this site called People of Walmart.  Check it out.  Some of it's funny, and some I just don't know what to think..

People are creative.  And different.  And crazy!

(warning: some of this may be offensive including some ugly words.  I advise stopping on about page eight or nine at least.)

What do you think about this?

Before... and After

IMG_2975

We had Bobo get his first haircut today... well first one since we have adopted him.  I figured he wouldn't like it because we gave him a bath once, and he was not a big fan!

But when we picked him up, he seemed so happy!  I guess he knows how cute he is!  ha :)

IMG_2987

I like how he looks with his fur brushed out.. he looks so fluffy.  And he's really, really soft!

Yay for haircuts!!!

No excuses

I have had plenty to write about and pictures to show, but just haven't done it.  I don't have excuses.  I just plain and simple didn't feel like it.

I feel like I'm getting behind though, so this post is intended to catch me up!

Last weekend Justin's uncle, Dennis, and his wife, Laura, came to Texas.  They were making a trip to Canton for the huge flea market that takes place there once a month.  They invited us and offered to pay for our hotel room, so of course we couldn't resist!

Since we were staying the night, we had to bring Bobo along for the ride.  He slept most of the way there and back.  I think we wore him out walking around Canton for so many hours on Saturday!

There was one area that had TONS of animals.  I love animals and zoos and that sort of things, so this was right up my alley.  :)  Here are a few of my favorites...

I scream, You scream, We all scream...

Last weekend (yes, it's been a long time since I last posted) we had to drive to a neighboring town, and on our way we spotted some garage sale signs.  We decided to stop.  And am I ever glad we did!

What a prize we found for only a few bucks!

I have always loved homemade ice cream.   My grandparents used to have an ice cream maker, and I remember sitting on the back patio waiting and waiting and waiting.  It was always so worth it though.  And now, we have our very own ice cream-making-machine!

A few days later our friends Dustin and Jenna invited us over to grill some burgers and hang out.  (The burgers were to die for, by the way.  You should ask Jenna for the recipe!)  We decided it would be the perfect chance for us to try out our new best friend!

I got a recipe off of Kelly's Recipe Blog.  You can see it here

Wow!  She was not kidding when she said it was soooo good!

This picture definitely does not do it justice.  But I had to document it.. haha :)

Well, Justin and I have tomorrow off so we are starting our weekend early.  I hope everyone has a fun and safe three day weekend :) :) :)
