week27

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 27 weeks

Size of baby: 14.5 inches.. size of a head of cauliflower (2 pounds).

Maternity clothes: Yes!  and I’ve been wearing lots of skirts and dresses lately because they are cooler.  Most of those are non maternity.

Gender: baby boy.  Judah Scott Perkins.

Movement:  Over the past couple weeks I have felt Judah rolling around in my belly.  Not just kicks and punches anymore!

Sleep: Well, we are now staying with Justin’s parents in a spare bedroom until we get our own place… and I’m not sleeping great.

What I miss:  my Texas friends and family. :(

Cravings:  chinese food

Aversions:  I cannot bring myself to cook raw chicken.

Symptoms: Back ACHE!!!  oh my heavens… it’s bad every day and gets worse towards evening.  I’ve tried tylenol, heading pads, warm baths, massage, etc.  Nothing helps.  Any advice??

Best moment this week:  Seeing friends and family in West Monroe for the first time in a while.  I’m so excited for Judah to meet everyone in a few months!  The time is coming quickly!!!

weekly randoms!

So it seems like the only posts I know how to make lately are pregnancy updates or just completely random thoughts piled together…  This one is the latter.

Last Wednesday I had Justin take me to IKEA.  I love IKEA and really wanted to go one last time before we move away.  I thought I would maybe find some cool stuff for Judah’s nursery, and I wanted to pick up some new blankets for photography purposes.  Unfortunately we didn’t get much for the nursery, but I got a nice new stash of blankets, a small table to possibly use in Judah’s room, and we got baby boy a set of stacking/nesting cups!  (I just had to get him something!)

Then on Saturday I went to a baby shower for a sweet friend, Julie.  I actually worked for her a while back helping her out with narrowing down sessions for her photography business.  (If you are in the Denton area, check out www.juliebirdseye.com).  The shower was all baseball themed and sooo cute!  And it was great to see her again before I move away.  She was even sweet enough to bring Judah a gift to her own baby shower.  :)

Today we had lunch at Mi Cocina with some super great friends after church.  I just adore Gabriella and Riman.  I realized today while having lunch with them that we really are running out of time to spend with people that have grown so special to us. It’s going to be very hard to leave these friendships behind.  Thank you guys for lunch and for everything!  We have to keep in touch… for real!

We have ONE week left until the move, and it’s going to be a crazy busy week.  Tomorrow night we have dinner plans with the Henderson’s… Tuesday night I have plans for dessert with some girlfriends… at some point I HAVE to go visit with my sister and her fam.. not to mention working, finishing up packing, getting utilities turned off, cleaning the apartment, etc.  I’m tired just thinking about it all!

25 weeks

week25

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 25 weeks

Size of baby: 13.5 inches.. size of a rutabaga (1.5 pounds).

Maternity clothes: Pants are maternity or stretchy, and shirts are still a good mix.  I’ve been wearing lots of skirts and dresses lately because they are cooler.  Most of those are non maternity.

Gender: baby boy.  Judah Scott Perkins.

Movement:  This past week I started feeling some really hard kicks and jabs.  Sometimes they come out of nowhere and startle me!

Sleep: It takes a little while to get into a comfortable position, but once I’m asleep, I’m sleeping well.

What I miss:  being able to cook chicken.

Cravings:  mainly just fruit (watermelon, pineapple, strawberries) and sweets!  Also frozen yogurt.  yummm!

Aversions:  I cannot bring myself to cook raw chicken.

Symptoms: back ache, itchy belly, and hot!  oh, and my belly button is getting flat.  I really think it will be poking out soon!

Best moment this week:  One day before leaving for work, Justin put on IHOP’s Joy CD, and Judah moved around the whole time the music was playing.  I think he liked it!

Size of baby: 11.5 inches.. size of a large mango.

Maternity clothes: Pants are maternity or stretchy, and shirts are still a good mix.

Movement:  Movement is throughout the day not.. not only when I’m sitting still or laying down.  I love to feel these little movements.  Sweet reminders that he is in there and still doing okay.

What I miss:  not much this week!

Cravings:  mainly just fruit (watermelon, pineapple, strawberries) and sweets!

Aversions:  I cannot bring myself to cook raw chicken!  Also, the thought of pot roast has had me gagging.  For this week add the smell of a ripe banana to the list.  I took a bite of one and smelled it and then threw it in the trash.  SO NASTY!

Symptoms: back ache, thirstier than usual, itchy belly, and starting to be hot more often.
