I’ve fallen off…

It has been so long since I have blogged that I couldn’t remember my blogger password.  It’s safe to say that I have fallen off the blogging train.  And the picture taking train.  And maybe even the cooking and cleaning house train.  Yikes!

Normally I would just start here and skip everything that I have missed.. but because I want Judah’s milestones recorded, I’m going to at least do a quick rundown of those for my own sake.

8 Months--

scooting- pulling himself with his arms (started the day after he turned 7 months)

got third and fourth teeth.

weighed 21.11

found out he will be a big brother on 4/24!!! (here is my reason for the blog failure)

definitely babyproofing began this month.  Judah started exploring.

bangs two objects together to make noise

pulled himself up to standing on our ottoman on 5/16.

9 months--

wants to stand up all the time.

cruises along the furniture.

says “mama”

1st roadtrip to dallas to visit Aunt Candice, Uncle Dom, and cousin Ava.

wearing 12 months clothes.

6 teeth!

loving balls, anything that makes noise, and playing rough.

very interested in our cat, Sylvester.

finds one object/toy daily to carry around all day.

has started to notice when I leave the room and cries/whines.

started doing his scrunched up face.

10 months—

let go while standing on 6/22.

weighs 23.13 and is 29 1/4 inches long.

very efficient at crawling now on hands and knees. He loves being chased and will crawl faster if he sees us coming for him.

doing better with table food- loves fig newtons! also tried grapes, bread, mashed potatoes, puffs, and greek yogurt.

diagnosed with eczema on legs at 9 month appointment.

finally getting some thickness to his hair in the back

started clapping and doing patty cake on July 14th

I guess I’ll wait and do his 11 month post once he turns 11 months… less than a week from now!  My baby boy is growing up.  It really has passed us by so quickly.  I love my little monkey!

7 months

Is this for real?!  Is my baby really closer to a year old than he is to his birth day? 

My precious Judah has had a big month!  He has started sitting up on his own.  He did it for the first time really well on April 2nd.  He is now rolling all over the place and scooting to get to things that he wants.

He is wearing all 9 month sized clothing and size 4 diapers!

Judah has started “talking”.  He makes the sounds: ga, ma, da, and ki.  He has said “dada” and “daddy” several times, which makes Justin’s day each and every time!  :)

I think one of his sweetest recent accomplishments is that he now reaches out for me!  It melts me.  If he wants our of his jumperoo he does it.  Or if he is sitting on the floor with me in front of him, he will reach out and let me know he wants to be picked up.  And then as if I’m not already a pile of mush, he will lay his head down on my chest and cuddle me for a second.  I can’t stand the sweetness! <3

Judah’s firsts in the past month include first zoo trip, first time sitting up in the shopping cart, and first time going to the nursery at church.  I had such a hard time leaving him in the nursery.  I missed him a ton, but he did really well.  I bet he had a much better time in there with toys and friends than he did when he stayed with me in service.  My boy is growing up!

I have tried introducing Judah to some different finger foods.  I’ve given him banana, avocado, yogurt melts, and puffs.  So far, he hasn’t liked any of it!  He just wants that pureed mushy baby food.  I guess we will try again in a couple weeks.

We have just entered a new stage of Judah not wanting to go to sleep.  When we lay him down for naps or bedtime, he screams and screams and screams.  He is only calmed when we pick him up.  I’m hoping this is just from teething and will pass soon.  I was also thinking it could be the beginning of separation anxiety.  Only time will tell!

For now, I guess I need to start planning a first birthday party.  Can someone please invent a way to slow down the time? 

the zoo!

I really wanted to take Judah to the zoo because it has always been a favorite thing to do for me.  Of course, he wasn’t super interested at this age.  I think he enjoyed being outside though!

some firsts!

Judah has had several “firsts” lately.

First time to sit up alone.

First time to sit in the front of the shopping cart.

First trip to the zoo.

First time to take a bath sitting up like a big boy.

Easter 2012

We had an incredible Easter this year.  We attended a beautiful church service, spent time with family, and even had our own personal Easter bunny. 

Justin and I have decided that we won’t focus on the Easter bunny with our children.  We will make the focus of the holiday Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection… but we will still let them have fun and hunt eggs, etc.

With Judah being so small this year, I knew he wouldn’t understand either way.  I told him what Easter is about, though, while getting him dressed for church.  I want him to hear about it from a young age even if he doesn’t understand yet.

We fixed him up a little basket with some onesies for summer, some sunscreen, bunny ears, and a sun shade thing for his car window.

6 months

Half a year old!  It sure is crazy.  Each month seems to keep getting better.  I so love being a mommy to my sweet boy.  It’s not exactly how I imagined it would be, but it is my dream come true.

At 6 months, Judah has moved to all 9 months pj’s, but still in 6 month clothes.  As he is showing off in the picture above, Judah got his first two teeth this month!  What a big boy!  :)

He will roll side to side to get a toy, and he will pick up toys after dropping them. 

Our boy has learned how to squeal and loves to hear himself!  It is very shrill and high pitch.  He also loves his jumperoo, being outside, and playing with his big stuffed caterpillar that his Meme bought him.

He wants to crawl, but hasn’t figured it out yet!  He can scoot backwards when on hands and knees.  He even gets up on his hands and feet… but no crawling!

He is definitely a wiggle worm.  If we try to hold him in our laps, he squirms the whole time.  If we prop him up on the couch or chair, we wiggles until he is flat on his back.  We have a mover on our hands!

Judah has really started to stretch his neck to look around and follow things/people with his eyes.  He does this a bunch with our cat. 

At his 6 month well check up, Judah weighed 20 pounds, 6 ounces.  He was 27 1/4” long.  And most importantly, he was very healthy!

Judah is such a joy. Such a happy boy. Everywhere we go people as us if he is always so happy. We are truly blessed.

My itty bitty is almost 6 months old!  There will be a six month post coming soon, but for now I just wanted to post a few pics from my phone that I have taken lately.  Over the past week or so, I just feel like he has grown and changed a ton.  When I see him in his crib or see someone else holding him, or even see him in his jumperoo.. I just can’t believe my eyes!

I’ve introduced him to a sippy cup.  He still has no idea how to make the water come out, but he sure knows how to get it to his mouth!

I could just eat him up!  I really love that he is a chunky baby.  So much fun to love on those rolls!

He’s so big in his carseat!  I thought he looked so sweet sleeping in it when I went to get him out.

We took Judah to the park recently, and I’m pretty sure he loved it!  He can be so fussy, and if I walk outside with him.. all is better.  I have a feeling lots of outside time is in my future!
