Easter 2012

We had an incredible Easter this year.  We attended a beautiful church service, spent time with family, and even had our own personal Easter bunny. 

Justin and I have decided that we won’t focus on the Easter bunny with our children.  We will make the focus of the holiday Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection… but we will still let them have fun and hunt eggs, etc.

With Judah being so small this year, I knew he wouldn’t understand either way.  I told him what Easter is about, though, while getting him dressed for church.  I want him to hear about it from a young age even if he doesn’t understand yet.

We fixed him up a little basket with some onesies for summer, some sunscreen, bunny ears, and a sun shade thing for his car window.

6 months

Half a year old!  It sure is crazy.  Each month seems to keep getting better.  I so love being a mommy to my sweet boy.  It’s not exactly how I imagined it would be, but it is my dream come true.

At 6 months, Judah has moved to all 9 months pj’s, but still in 6 month clothes.  As he is showing off in the picture above, Judah got his first two teeth this month!  What a big boy!  :)

He will roll side to side to get a toy, and he will pick up toys after dropping them. 

Our boy has learned how to squeal and loves to hear himself!  It is very shrill and high pitch.  He also loves his jumperoo, being outside, and playing with his big stuffed caterpillar that his Meme bought him.

He wants to crawl, but hasn’t figured it out yet!  He can scoot backwards when on hands and knees.  He even gets up on his hands and feet… but no crawling!

He is definitely a wiggle worm.  If we try to hold him in our laps, he squirms the whole time.  If we prop him up on the couch or chair, we wiggles until he is flat on his back.  We have a mover on our hands!

Judah has really started to stretch his neck to look around and follow things/people with his eyes.  He does this a bunch with our cat. 

At his 6 month well check up, Judah weighed 20 pounds, 6 ounces.  He was 27 1/4” long.  And most importantly, he was very healthy!

Judah is such a joy. Such a happy boy. Everywhere we go people as us if he is always so happy. We are truly blessed.

My itty bitty is almost 6 months old!  There will be a six month post coming soon, but for now I just wanted to post a few pics from my phone that I have taken lately.  Over the past week or so, I just feel like he has grown and changed a ton.  When I see him in his crib or see someone else holding him, or even see him in his jumperoo.. I just can’t believe my eyes!

I’ve introduced him to a sippy cup.  He still has no idea how to make the water come out, but he sure knows how to get it to his mouth!

I could just eat him up!  I really love that he is a chunky baby.  So much fun to love on those rolls!

He’s so big in his carseat!  I thought he looked so sweet sleeping in it when I went to get him out.

We took Judah to the park recently, and I’m pretty sure he loved it!  He can be so fussy, and if I walk outside with him.. all is better.  I have a feeling lots of outside time is in my future!

5 months

Judah is now 5 months old!  In my opinion, he doesn’t seem much larger than he did at 4 months, but he has definitely made some changes.  Judah has found his feet, and they are a new favorite!  He has started getting up on hands and knees and rocking front to back like he is ready to crawl!  He has also been scooting around more, especially in his crib.  He definitely has more body control and seems to be close to sitting up on his own.

Judah has cut his first tooth!  On the 22nd of this month, I rubbed my finger across his gums and felt something sharp.  Sure enough, his bottom right tooth is poking through!  When it pushes through a little more, I will try to get a picture.

I think our boy is going to be a bit of a “dare devil”.  His daddy plays rough with him and tosses him up in the air and holds him upside down for a couple seconds at a time… and Judah LOVES it!  He will just smile and laugh the whole time.  He sure loves that special one on one time with Daddy.

Judah is in a size 3 diaper and a 4 in overnight diapers.  He is wearing all 6 month clothing and will be in 9 month pajamas very soon.  I love that he is a big boy.  Baby rolls just make me melt.  Haha :).

Judah is now eating baby food twice a day.  Once around 10 am and again around 6 pm.  He still seems to love his milk the most though!  So far he seems to be a pretty good eater.  He has only gagged on green beans the first couple of times, but is now even eating those.  He’s growing up so fast!!!

Judah had his first ear infection recently.  It came along with a cold.  We caught it early though, and it didn’t seem to bother him too much.  We did put him on antibiotics for it at the recommendation of his doctor.

A few other new things from this month—Judah has started scratching things, like his crib sheet or his carseat.  I’m not sure if he likes the feel of it or the sound it makes or what.  He’s also started rubbing his ear/hair when I’m holding him and feeding his night time bottle before bed at night.  I love these little habits that make him unique.

Only one more month til his half birthday!!!!

My hubby is and always will be my special Valentine <3.

But this year I am blessed to have another sweet guy in my life.

We aren’t doing anything big this year to celebrate.. no gifts, no fancy dinner, etc.  But there is still lots of love to go around.  And my sweet Judah gave me a gift that I won’t soon forget today.  For the first time, today he let me experience one of those moments where “mommy’s kisses make it all better.”

Judah was playing with his Sophie teether and smacked himself in the face with it pretty hard.  He immediately turned red and started screaming and crying.  Mommy swooped in and kissed him and held him tight… and guess what!  He started giggling and smiling.  My heart melted.  Such a sweet gift to me on this special day.

I love my two guys so much.

these moments

I had another one of those moments today.  The moments where tears fill my eyes and my chest tightens and a lump forms in my throat.  The moments where I realize just how blessed I am.  The  moments where I don’t think it could ever be possible to feel a stronger love.  Judah Scott has completely turned my world upside down, and I love every moment of it.  Especially these special moments like the one I experienced today.
